Several weeks before I learned anything about my brain tumor, I was gripped with very strong feelings of anxiety. I may never know why they happened “out of sequence,” and I don’t try to make meaning of their timing. What I do know is that I learned from the feelings. In this instance, anxiety came for no identifiable reason. It was not like the kind that follows me stressing over finances, relationship challenges, traumatic memories or the long distance issues…..

Substituting for my own doctor, she was proactively taking steps to care for me and move my case forward, while my own physician was out of office all week.
